Things have changed a lot on Grovehill, since Alex first launched Tidy Tigers back in 2007. Now-a-days, Alex may collect a whole bag of rubbish while out litter picking, compared to sometimes more than half-a-dozen bags every few nights, many years ago.
Tidy Tigers was intended as an initiative to educate and encourage our next generation and Julie's after school club was a perfect portal through which Tidy Tigers endured for many years. Indeed, Grovehill cleaned up very quickly and a whole load of kids grew up litter aware and even pro-active.
Unfortunately, nothing lasts for ever and it was challenging to keep Tidy Tigers going following the closure of the Grovehill After School Club.
In 2024 however, Alex and Julie are relaunching Tidy Tigers but this time to a larger audience. With so many residents concerned about keeping Grovehill clean and litter-free, Tidy Tigers is now open to everyone as we look to support regular community litter-picks.
If you'd like to be involved and stay informed, please just complete the form below. All personal contact information will remain confidential and will only be used to advise you of community litter picks.
As things progress, we'll be looking to form a Grovehill Tidy Tigers WhatsApp group. This will allow you to organise litter-picks with perhaps just one or two other residents, just in your road, for example.
And of course, news will also be published on the Grovehill Community Matters Facebook page. 🙂
